Alu Bhate

The most basic side item of Bengali homes. Gorom Bhat(steaming hot rice) Daal and Alu bhate is an all time favourite of any Bengali all over the world.

Alu bhate

Ingredients

    1. 3 medium sized potatoes cut into 4, and boiled
    2. 1 medium sized Onion finely chopped
    3. 2 – 3 chopped Green Chillies
    4. 1/2 a medium sized lime
    5. Salt to taste

 

Method :

      1. Mash up the potatoes and mix in the other ingredients.
      2. Serve with Steaming rice and Daal.

Note:

  1. Instead of lemon juice, you can add a teaspoon of mustard oil and mash up.
  2. You can also use any vegetarian pickle oil instead of mustard use.
